This blog is about the glory of God passing before us, in the ‘face’ of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We behold God’s glory in Jesus. We behold Jesus by the Gospel. The Gospel is God’s report about His Son, Jesus. We either believe or we do not. If we believe, it leads to LIFE.
He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal LIFE, and this LIFE is in His Son. He who has the Son has LIFE; he who does not have the Son of God does not have LIFE. 1 John 5:10-12
If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6
One day as I was rocking my granddaughter to sleep, I was looking at her innocent little face. When I felt her breath grace my face, I thought, “God’s glory is like that!”You may think that’s odd. Let me explain. When the truth of God’s glory dawns on us, it’s like that sweet little breath. LIFE! The natural event helped me grasp a supernatural event; salvation!
the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Let’s look at all the I AM’S of Jesus.
I am the bread of LIFE: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of LIFE. John 8:12
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have LIFE, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:9-10
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his LIFE for the sheep. John 10:11
I am the resurrection, and the LIFE: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he LIVE: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:25-26
I am the way, the truth, and the LIFE: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. John 14:6-7
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5
The glory of God’s passes before us whenever God’s Word passes before us.
The glory of God passes before us when we hear the Gospel.
The glory of God passes before us when we see a Christian walking in truth.
The glory of God passes before us when we see a broken soul get their life back!
And on and on and on.
One day, Moses asked God,
“Show meYour glory.”
[God] said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Exodus 33:18-19
And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed,
“The Lord, the Lord God,
merciful
gracious,
longsuffering
abounding ingoodness and truth
keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,
by no means clearingthe guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”Exodus 34:6-7
Jesus Christ is God’s glory passing before us today.
When they asked Jesus what they should do to work the works of God, He answered,
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:28-29
Faith in Jesus is salvation! LIFE!
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of LIFE. Romans 6:3-4
Jesus said,
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. John 6:38
Jesus taught us to pray,
Father, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
… Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
There is no sin in heaven.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
Jesus came to fulfill God’s glorious good will by giving His LIFE for us so that we can have LIFE in Him.
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’ ”
Previously saying,“Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law),then He said,“Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.”He takes away the first that He may establish the second.By that will we have beensanctifiedthrough the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:7-10
MERCY AND GRACE
God’s glory is is mercy and grace that offers to us, LIFE.
The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His gracewe should become heirs according to the hope of eternal LIFE.. Titus 3:4-7
LONGSUFFERING
God’s glory is longsuffering and is shown in His waiting for us to come to repentance.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Paul wrote,
Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to LIFE everlasting. 1 Timothy 1:13-16
TRUTH
God’s glory is truth. When the Gospel is believed, it leads to LIFE.
The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 1:9-13
So, for heaven’s sake, don’t miss the glory of God when it passes before us! It’s a gracious gift from God! Believe on and call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved today!
the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8
PRAYERS
if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation
Romans 10:9-10
May the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working inyou what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 13:20-21
And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ,to the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:9-11
